GIGABASH Mobile opens Open Beta on App Store and Google Play

GIGABASH 巨擊大亂鬥 Mobile, developed by Malaysia's Passion Republic Games, has launched an Open Beta on the App Store and Google Play. The mobile version drops players into city-scale brawls where titans and giant mechs duke it out for dominance. The game's story frames a world where ancient heroes once defeated colossal monsters, leaving humanity to forget that terror—until a mysterious force reawakens sleeping beasts worldwide and doom-timers start ticking. Players can control rampaging titans capable of punching skyscrapers or pilot giant mechs that call down lightning. Performing combos and wrecking environments charges '聚伽' energy, letting you transform into an S-tier titan, and the title's DLC adds crossover characters from various legendary IPs for extra variety. If you want to test city-scale destruction and the S-rank transformation mechanics, the Open Beta is available now on iOS and Android via App Store and Google Play.

Dragon Quest Smash/Grow launches Watermelon Mania through Sept 22, 2026

Dragon Quest Smash/Grow has kicked off its 2026 summer event, Smash/Grow 2026 Watermelon Mania, live now and running through September 22, 2026. Square Enix rolled the event out for the mobile roguelite RPG on iOS and Android, pairing limited-time rewards with permanent gameplay additions. During Watermelon Mania players clear stages to collect Watermelon Chunks, which unlock new recipes and let you acquire and upgrade event skills. The event also hands out Watermelon Pips you can trade at the Swap Shop for limited-time goodies, including the Watermelon Swimsuit and event accessories. Daily login bonuses across the campaign add up to as many as 1,200 gems. The Scandalous Swimsuits ’26 Set is available for a limited run through September 29, UTC, and brings the new Watermaul Wand. Its Coup de Grâce, Watermaul Typhoon, targets the enemy with the highest HP, generates winds that pull nearby foes toward that target, and deals magical wind damage. The wand also carries the Sea Spray Enchantment: after sphere-type skills hit a set number of times, Sea Spray produces a wind shockwave that damages surrounding enemies. Watermelon Mania also introduces Memory Cores, a permanent progression system unlocked by advancing to Chapter 6 of the story quests. Characters can equip up to two Memory Cores to boost capabilities; players craft cores using gold coins and Memory Points, which are gained by exchanging unwanted Memories. Three Memory Cores of the same rank can be combined with a gold-coin cost to produce a higher-rank core. Takeaway: Watermelon Mania is both a summer cosmetics event and the point where progression changes — Memory Cores arrive as a permanent layer players access after Chapter 6, while time-limited drops like the Scandalous Swimsuits ’26 and Watermaul Wand remain on shorter timers through late September.

MTG Playamp goes all-in on AI across its studios

MTG’s Playamp division is embedding AI across development, art, marketing and business intelligence, CEO Oliver Bulloss told MobileGamer.biz. The newly rebranded group — which now groups Plarium, InnoGames, Hutch, Snowprint, Ninja Kiwi and Futureplay — says AI tools are present across “practically all” pipelines at its studios, and Bulloss describes the tech as an amplifier for existing teams rather than a staff replacement. At InnoGames a two-person team spent roughly two months building a custom “AI Stage Designer” that automates stage story, quests, balancing, asset labelling, layout and cutscenes. That system cut stage development time from ten weeks to three, and a team of three now produces what previously required about 25 people “at the same frequency and quality level as before,” Bulloss said. No layoffs followed: staff freed by the tool were moved from the underperforming live service title Sunrise Village onto InnoGames’ newer project, Cozy Coast. InnoGames has also rolled AI-assisted art production across Forge of Empires, Cozy Coast, Elvenar and Heroes of History for concepts, illustrations, UI sprites, icons and texturing, and says this lowered its planned 2025 external art outsourcing spend by 60%. Plarium’s data team built three internal production tools — VizOps, Nexus and Chronicle — without hand-written code, cutting iteration time roughly tenfold, the company reports. VizOps handles business intelligence and data report lifecycles with automated testing and AI code review. Nexus continuously scans datasets for anomalies before they reach dashboards or models, and Chronicle assembles a full player action timeline from raw event data for support and QA teams. Plarium also added two LLM agents to BigQuery so staff can query company data in plain language, and created an AI-first development framework inside VS Code with native Claude Code integration. That framework is used for prototypes and playable ads today and is being extended toward larger 3D productions for early market testing. The studio’s Artmaker platform is designed to keep company IP safe while giving artists an in-house alternative to public tools for asset experimentation and production. AI is used beyond engineering and art. Plarium says AI-assisted, character-led video campaigns have shortened marketing production from months to weeks, and that AI-assisted trailers now perform on par with traditionally produced ones. InnoGames ran its first AI static ad in May 2023 and its first AI video ad in October 2024; it now involves AI in the majority of ad production and reports creative output up threefold versus the same period in 2023. Bulloss added that time saved by AI is being reinvested into more projects rather than used for cost-cutting. Takeaway: Playamp’s numbers and moves are concrete — a two-month build that slashed stage production from ten weeks to three, a 60% cut to planned art outsourcing for 2025, and staff reallocated onto Cozy Coast — which together point to more internal capacity and faster prototype-to-live cycles across the group.

BLACK DESERT MOBILE: UNITED SERVER 1st anniversary begins Aug 19

BLACK DESERT MOBILE will mark the one-year anniversary of its UNITED SERVER — the global cross-region merge that unified Taiwan/HK/Macau, Japan, and other Asian servers — on August 19, and Pearl Abyss has launched a five-week celebration event starting immediately. The seasonal run will treat each week to a different region theme, beginning with Asia and continuing through Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. Across the five-week window, Velia will host an "O.N.E. 1st Anniversary" commemorative cake; interacting with the cake grants a 24-hour 50% combat experience bonus every time, a repeatable pick-me-up for progression. Players can also build an in-game picture book titled "[Around the World] Together-Made Memory Album" by completing regular game content and weekly celebration tasks; finishing the album yields multiple temporary buffs and assorted growth-support items. There’s also an "O.N.E. 1st Anniversary Countdown Calendar" that unlocks extra weekly gifts when opened for five consecutive weeks. Weekly activities tie into each regional theme. The Asia kickoff includes a limited-time "Dawn Country Market" where adventurers can buy practical items at discounted prices, among them the Black Shrine Entry Ticket. Completing designated tasks nets "Bright Lights," which you can trade at an exchange for needed materials. During each week’s conquest period, a time-limited boss named Pik appears on Wednesdays with a chance to drop rare rewards such as Breath of Emptiness and Eye of Emptiness. Pearl Abyss will stream an anniversary broadcast on August 19 at 4:30 PM Taiwan time on the official BLACK DESERT MOBILE YouTube channel, featuring a lucky-number raffle and other on-air activities that award in-game prizes. If you aim to stack reliable week-to-week progression boosts, the cake’s 24-hour 50% combat XP and the album/exchange rewards are the concrete pulls to plan around.

Seven Knights Re:BIRTH lands on Galaxy Store; pre‑registration open for Sept 3 launch

Seven Knights Re:BIRTH from Netmarble is now available for pre‑registration on Samsung's Galaxy Store, with the game scheduled to launch on September 3. The listing marks Netmarble’s first title on the Galaxy Store and opens a Galaxy‑specific pre‑reg channel for the RPG relaunch. Players who pre‑register through the Galaxy Store will receive exclusive in‑game rewards after the September 3 launch, including a "Legendary Hero Summon Ticket III," a "Legendary Egg," and a "New Adventurer Support Gear Box," according to the announcement. Seven Knights Re:BIRTH keeps the original Seven Knights’ story, characters, combat system, and core mechanics while adding modernized features and current trends. Netmarble also reminds fans that the original Seven Knights has passed 100 million global downloads and points players to the official website, forum, Facebook, and YouTube for more details. Netmarble says the Galaxy Store partnership will extend the game’s reach into Galaxy device users and provide Galaxy‑exclusive game benefits, so pre‑registering on Galaxy Store is the way to claim those specific rewards.

PUBG Mobile Light launches in 2026; pre-registration opens Aug 25

PUBG Mobile Light will arrive in 2026, with pre-registration opening on Google Play and the App Store on August 25, PUBG Mobile producer Rick Li announced on social media. Lightspeed Studios says the new client keeps the core combat and Erangel map from the standard game while reducing the app’s device footprint. The Android build of PUBG Mobile Light will be around 1GB, while the iOS version will be approximately 2GB. Players can choose which content to store on their devices, giving them control over individual storage use rather than installing everything by default. Unlike the long-running PUBG Mobile Lite, PUBG Mobile Light is presented as a slimmer client that preserves the full gameplay experience rather than a pared-down feature set. Cosmetics and account continuity carry over: players who log into their existing PUBG Mobile account can keep their items, outfits and other purchased cosmetics in Light. Light users will be able to squad up with friends playing the standard PUBG Mobile app, and Li said Light will receive updates alongside PUBG Mobile so new content is released in step. The announcement names Lightspeed Studios and Rick Li as the sources for these details. The report also notes Krafton India’s recent community push: BGMI Campus MVP is a 90-day student leadership programme that launched this month and includes 150 student ambassadors drawn from 17 IITs and 28 NITs. Participants will build campus BGMI communities, create content, run meet-ups and tournaments across three phases. Separately, BGMI Lite is expected to launch in India later this year as a lower-end target client similar in purpose to PUBG Mobile Lite and PUBG Mobile Light. Takeaway: with an Android download near 1GB, an opt-in content model, and full account carryover, PUBG Mobile Light aims to let players on tighter-storage devices keep their cosmetics and team up with standard-app friends without switching accounts or losing progress.

Monster Dungeon+ adds Traditional Chinese — HK Sept 1, TW Oct 1

clony Inc.'s mobile RPG Monster Dungeon+ (まものダンジョン+) will launch a Traditional Chinese version in Hong Kong on September 1, 2026 and in Taiwan on October 1, 2026; Taiwan pre-orders and pre-registrations are open now. The developer notes the game has operated in Japan for more than eight years with ongoing additions of monsters, stages, and events, and this marks the first Traditional Chinese release. Monster Dungeon+ mixes idle and active play: small enemy encounters earn gold and XP while the game idles, and players can tap to add extra attacks when they want hands-on action. Boss fights use a traditional command-battle system where skills and equipment matter, and players who struggle can strengthen monsters, upgrade gear, or pull stronger partners from gacha. Monster growth uses synthesis to inherit skills, and equipment tuning lets you optimize roles — collect, fuse, and team-build for arena, guild content, and real-time PvP. Multiplayer options include up to five-player co-op for tough encounters, plus competitive modes such as the arena and guild battles. To mark the launch, Monster Dungeon+ will hand out an opening 10-pull gacha ticket on first download that can be re-rolled unlimited times until you like the result; the game also tracks a re-roll leaderboard. New-player rewards include 3,000 diamonds for accounts created during the launch campaign, and a 14-day login series that totals 2,800 diamonds, 12 million gold, and a guaranteed UR gacha ticket on day 14. A friend-invite system lets you invite up to 20 people and grants rewards — diamonds and summon books — as invited players progress through stages. Note the monetization and ad details before you download: some content requires additional payment, and periodic popup ads appear during play; those popups can be removed via in-app purchase. Takeaway: if you care about a comfortable early roster, the unlimited re-roll 10-pull at first download plus the 3,000-diamond new-player grant give Taiwanese and Hong Kong players concrete head-start advantages at launch.

Krafton to launch BGMI Lite in India late 2026

Krafton to launch BGMI Lite in India late 2026

Krafton announced a lightweight version of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI Lite) targeted for release in India in late 2026. Krafton India said BGMI Lite will “open doors to a new generation of users” and described the release as a next milestone for the BGMI ecosystem, but gave no technical details yet. The studio did not publish a specific release date, supported-device specs, or whether existing BGMI accounts and saved data will link to the Lite version. Krafton India said it will disclose gameplay features and additional information closer to the release window. The announcement used the words “accessibility” and “inclusivity” rather than naming low-spec devices or network targets explicitly. BGMI originally launched in India in July 2021, was removed from local app markets after government action in July 2022, and resumed service in May 2023 after roughly ten months offline. In its Q1 2026 financial report, Krafton said cumulative BGMI downloads exceeded 260 million and that paying users increased 17% year‑over‑year. Krafton has previously offered lighter variants elsewhere: PUBG Lite for PC ran from 2019 (starting in Southeast Asia) until its shutdown on April 29, 2021, and Tencent’s PUBG Mobile Lite launched in July 2019 and was later removed from India in September 2020 following the PUBG Mobile ban. Takeaway: Krafton India promises more details closer to launch, so the questions left open today — exact late‑2026 date, device requirements, account/data linkage, and whether Lite will be a separate app — are the specific items to look for in the studio’s follow‑up announcements.

Sally Face 2 announced for PC, consoles, iOS and Android

Portable Moose announced Sally Face 2, a single-player, side-scrolling supernatural post-apocalypse adventure coming first to PC via Steam Early Access, with console and iOS/Android ports to follow; no release date was provided, and Gematsu carried the report. Founder Steve Gabry said in the press release, “The community’s anticipation for Sally Face 2 has been inspiring, and we are excited to finally share a look at what we’ve been building.” About Sally Face 2: the game is narrative-driven horror that asks “What’s left to hold on to?” as Sal and his three friends navigate a world falling apart. The studio lists Brain Bending Puzzles as a core play loop: players fight for survival by solving challenging puzzles and cryptic brain teasers, with an optional hint system for a smoother experience. The teaser and the overview make it clear the story leans into shock and slow-unspooling revelations rather than combat-heavy action. Art and tone get specific callouts: Portable Moose says the game draws inspiration from 90s cartoons and nightmares, blending those elements into every character, enemy, and environment. The developer also emphasized Hand Crafted Horror — every asset was made by humans, and “there is not a single instance of A.I. generated content in the game.” That line appears in the overview alongside the other Key Features listed by the studio. Takeaway: if you want to get in early, the only confirmed entry point is Steam Early Access on PC; consoles and mobile are promised later but without dates. Gematsu is the source for the announcement and the quoted press release details, so PC players who follow the series have the clearest path to play sooner rather than later.
