Pearl Abyss Sells CCP Games for $120M to Management Team
Pearl Abyss has sold the EVE Online developer CCP Games to its management team for $120 million. This decision, announced on April 30 through a regulatory filing, aligns with Pearl Abyss's strategy to focus on internal projects and new IP investments. Despite the change in ownership, CCP Games will continue to operate independently, with both companies open to future collaborations. Pearl Abyss originally acquired CCP Games in 2018 for up to $425 million, highlighting a significant drop in value with this sale. Meanwhile, Pearl Abyss is experiencing a resurgence thanks to the success of Crimson Desert, which has sold over 5 million copies globally.
