TrainStation 3 Fuels Pixel Federation's Record-Breaking Revenue

Pixel Federation has unveiled its financial prowess with a reported revenue of €41.2 million ($48.2 million) for 2025, up from €38.4 million ($44.9 million) in 2024. This impressive growth is largely attributed to the global launch of TrainStation 3, which not only set a new record as the studio's biggest launch in its 19-year history but also racked up nearly €8 million ($9.4 million) in revenue in just its first seven months.

While TrainStation 3 has stolen the spotlight, TrainStation 2 still holds the crown as the company’s top earner, generating €12.8 million ($15 million) this year. Pixel Federation has also introduced new event mechanics in TrainStation 3 that have led to notable improvements in key performance indicators, and plans to roll these enhancements out across its other titles.

In the realm of mobile in-game revenue, the Pixel Shop is making waves, now accounting for over 22% of the total, showcasing the studio's adeptness at monetization. Meanwhile, their charitable side shone through with the launch of the Save The Rails initiative, contributing €50,000 ($58,500) to support railway heritage projects in the UK and Slovakia, with Baltimore set to join the cause next year.

In terms of community engagement, Pixel Federation hosted its inaugural public Pixel Game Jam and piloted a four-day work week — a move that could make working in gaming more appealing than ever. CEO Daniel Duranka remarked, "TrainStation 3 confirmed the long-term strength of our flagship franchise and our ability to evolve it for a new generation of players."

Why it matters

Looking ahead, Pixel Federation isn't hitting the brakes anytime soon. The developer is gearing up for the global launch of Highway Heroes, a transport tycoon title, in June 2026, alongside the development of a new post-apocalyptic tycoon game. They will also host the first edition of their PixelCon conference on September 14th, promising to keep the momentum going into the next year. Buckle up, folks; this train is just getting started!
